Born on August 29th, in Carmo de Minas, Minas Gerais state.Lives until 1972 in Cambuí, Minas Gerais state.
1974–78
Studied architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Studies at the University of São Paulo.
1977
Begins internship with architect Lina Bo Bardi, on the project SESC–Fábrica da Pompéia.
1978
Obtains degree in architecture, and starts working as collaborator of architect Lina Bo Bardi in all her projects, until her death in 1992. He participated in many projects including the Leisure Center SESC–Fábrica da Pompéia, in São Paulo (1977), and the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art (1982).
Wins the design competition for the construction of the City Hall of Cambuí, Minas Gerais, along with architects José Sales Costa Filho, Marcelo Suzuki and Tâmara Roman.
1980
Found the firm Atelier Vila Madalena with architects Francisco Fanucci, José Sales Costa Filho, Marcelo Suzuki and Tâmara Roman.
1981
Ends the partnership of Atelier Vila Madalena, and together with architects Francisco de Paiva Fanucci and Marcelo Suzuki, founds the firm Brasil Arquitetura.
1986–90
With the architects Lina Bo Bardi and Marcelo Suzuki, creates designs for the revitalization and restoration of the Historic Center of Salvador, Bahia.
1986
Founds the furniture-making shop Marcenaria Baraúna with the partners from Brasil Arquitetura, for the creation and production of wood furniture and other objects.
1989
In Évora, Portugal, participates in the meeting of World Heritage Cities, representing Salvador, Bahia.
1991
Becomes member of the Board of Directors of Instituto Quadrante, currently Instituto Lina Bo e P. M. Bardi, at the invitation of the couple Lina and Pietro Maria Bardi.
1991–92
With the architects Lina Bo Bardi, André Vainer and Marcelo Suzuki, creates design for the new City Hall of the Municipality of São Paulo, in Parque Dom Pedro II.
1992
Publishes the book Arquitetura Rural na Serra da Mantiqueira(Rural Architecture in the Mantiqueira Mountains) considered the “Best Art Book” of 1992 by the São Paulo Chapter of the Institute of Architects of Brazil.
1992–98
Presents the photographic exhibition “Arquitetura Rural na Serra da Mantiqueira” in São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, Milan, Barcelona, Delft, London and Mexico City.
1993–2000
Conceives and coordinates the “Lina Bo Bardi Project” – a book, documentary and exhibition about the work of the architect.
