To start with, an ample and sufficiently sloped site with a generous view over interesting woodland surroundings. The specification of a quite extensive program immediately presented the challenge of avoiding a massive construction. On the contrary, the project attempts to occupy this vast available space by creating a concatenation of events in time and space, providing a range of paths that lead to their gradual discovery or perception.
Simplicity, clarity and functionality are the ideas that guide the first moves related to distribution and construction: two parallel main blocks interconnected at convenient points, concrete structural elements and masonry walls, with a conventional clay tile roof. In the front block the social areas overlook the pool and gardens; in the rear block the bedrooms, bathrooms, and dressing rooms.(...)
